Armando Santana of Apple Valley was arrested for the murder of Daniel Castillo

VICTIM: Daniel Castillo, age 25, a resident of Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Armando Santana, age 28, a resident of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Monday, June 7, 2021, at approximately 2:59 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to a man down inside a residence in the 20300 block of Otoe Road. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, later identified as Daniel Castillo, unresponsive inside the home. He was pronounced deceased at the location.
Investigators from the Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
Through investigation, investigators identified the suspect responsible for the shooting death of Daniel Castillo to be Armando Santana. Additionally, investigators learned that the victim and the suspect were known to each other before the incident.
On Wednesday, June 9, the suspect turned himself in to deputies at the Apple Valley Police Department. Homicide Investigators interviewed Santana, and at the conclusion of the interview, he was arrested and booked for PC 187 Murder.
