The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern Cass County in west central Missouri... Henry County in west central Missouri... Northeastern Bates County in west central Missouri... Southern Pettis County in central Missouri... Johnson County in west central Missouri...

* Until 515 PM CDT.

* At 440 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Concordia to near Holden to near Harrisonville, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near... Warrensburg and Chilhowee around 455 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Leeton, Creighton, Windsor and Urich.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BATES, MO ... CASS, MO ... HENRY, MO ... JOHNSON, MO ... PETTIS, MO

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Truman Reservoir, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
