On June 5, 2021, at approximately 4:28 AM, emergency personnel from the Camarillo Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Lewis Road and Temple Avenue in the City of Camarillo. Investigators have learned a silver Kia sedan driven by Mario Soto Del Toro was traveling northbound on Lewis Road. For unknown reasons, Luis Becerra was in the northbound lane of Lewis Road, north of the intersection of Temple Avenue. Mr. Del Toro was unable to stop his vehicle in time and a collision occurred with Mr. Becerra. Mr. Becerra remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The collision is still under investigation by the Camarillo Police Traffic Bureau. Anyone who might have witnessed the collision or may have seen Mr. Becerra walking in the area prior to the collision is asked to contact Senior Deputy Shawn Holzberger at 805-388-5146. |
