Narrative:
On June 8, 2021, deputies assigned to Camarillo Police Department responded to the area of 500 E. La Loma Avenue reference a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Brahn Centineo at the residence. Deputies attempted to question Centineo about the shots being fired. Centineo was extremely uncooperative and advised the deputies they were not welcome on his property. Deputies searched the area and were unable to establish any crime had occurred. As the deputies were conducting additional follow up in the same area, they heard a barrage of gun fire in the area. Based on the sound of the gun fire, deputies suspected the gun fire was coming from a large caliber firearm.

On June 9, 2021, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Police Department’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) conducted a follow up investigation pertaining to the shots fired call the previous evening. During the investigation, detectives discovered there were fresh bullet strikes in eucalyptus trees south of Centineo’s residence. The trajectory of the bullets was in direct line of a neighboring residence. If the trees were not present, the bullets would have likely struck the neighboring inhabited residence. With this newly discovered evidence, SED Detectives obtained a search warrant for Centineo’s residence to search for evidence of the crime of negligent discharge of a firearm and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

On June 11, 2021, Detectives initiated a traffic enforcement stop on Centineo’s vehicle and arrested him for the above described crimes. Detectives returned to Centineo’s residence and executed the search warrant. During the search, detectives located additional evidence of the above described crimes. Detectives also seized a large cache of firearms, ammunition, and equipment used to manufacturer ammunition.

Centineo was booked at the Ventura County Jail for negligent discharge of a firearm and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Centineo is currently in custody in lieu of $60,000.00 bail. He is scheduled for court on June 15, 2021.
