City of Rosemead Activates Cooling Center at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center for June 15, 2021 to June 17, 2021
The City of Rosemead has activated the City’s Cooling Center for the anticipated heatwave from Tuesday, June 15th to Thursday, June 17th. The Cooling Center is activated when the temperature in Rosemead exceeds 95 degrees for two consecutive days. The Cooling Center is located at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center (3936 North Muscatel Avenue) and will operate open to the public between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call the Public Safety Department at (626) 569-2292.
There will be open seating under the current COVID-19 guidelines and safety protocols, including face covings and social distancing regardless of vaccination status. The City will not provide meals or beverages, and restrooms will be available for those wishing to utilize the City's Cooling Center.
The health and safety of our staff and residents is our number one priority. Therefore, to adhere to the L.A. County Public Health Officer’s Order, the following safety protocols (including but not limited to) will be implemented:
- You cannot enter the Cooling Center if you have a cough, fever, or actively following isolation on quarantine orders;
- Visitors except for children under the age of 2, must use a face covering at all times inside the Cooling Center;
- Maintain a minimum of 6 feet of space from other visitors, except for household members; and
- No animals are allowed at the Cooling Center (except for service dogs).
