The Village of Shorewood has experienced an increase in motor vehicles thefts this year.  There have been 22 vehicles stolen since January 2021.  Of those 22 vehicles stolen, 18 of the vehicles have either been a Kia or Hyundai model.  To help deter thefts of these particular vehicle models, the Shorewood Police Department has obtained steering wheel locks to provide to Village of Shorewood residents that own a Kia model vehicle (model years 2011 to 2021) or Hyundai model vehicle (model years 2015 to 2021).  However, if you would like one for a different vehicle please give us a call.

To obtain one of the available steering wheel locks, residents should come to the Shorewood Police Department at 4057 N. Wilson Dr.  The resident will have to show proof of vehicle ownership and proof of residency.
