2 Alarm Fire Damages Two Homes in Rohnert Park

On 6/15/21 at approximately 4:30PM, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a fire on Emily Ave in Rohnert Park.  An officer was on scene within one minute and found the side of one home on fire as well the fence in between the adjacent residence.

The fire got into the attic of the main residence as well as the neighboring home which caused extensive damage.

Fire crews from The Rohnert park Department of Public Safety, Rancho Adobe Fire District, Sonoma County Fire, Gold Ridge Fire as well as the Petaluma Fire Department assisted in bringing this two-alarm incident under control within approximately 1 hour.

Unfortunately, one firefighter from Sonoma County Fire sustained a laceration to their hand and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. There were no other injuries on the scene.

Both homes were deemed uninhabitable due to the smoke, heat and water damage.  The loss is estimated to be $800,000 between both residences.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Department of Public Safety would like to thank the community members who quickly called 9-1-1 as well as began knocking on neighboring home door to make sure the homes were evacuated.
