INCIDENT: PC 417(a)(2) - Brandihing a firearm, PC 29800(a)(1) - Felon in possession of firearm, PC 30305(a)(1) - Felon in possession of ammunition
 
LOCATION: Sterling Avenue & 9^th Street Highland, CA
 
SUSPECT(S): Armando Hernandez, 21 years of age, resident of Highland
  
SUMMARY:  OnJune 15, 2021, at approximately 03:00 am, deputies from the Highland Sheriff's Station were dispatched to a report of a man with a gun near the intersection of Sterling Avenue and 9^th Street, in the City of Highland. The reporting party advised a subject driving a silver Chrysler 300 had parked alongside him and pointed a firearm at him.   Deputies from the Highland Station and Central Station conducted an area check and located a vehicle matching the description near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Del Rosa Drive, in the City of San Bernardino. A traffic stop was conducted and Armando Hernandez was detained without incident. Hernandez was found to be on active parole for a previous conviction of felon in possession of a firearm.  Deputies responded to Hernandez's residence and conducted a parole compliance check. During the check, deputies located a loaded 9mm handgun, which was unregistered. Hernandez was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as a parole violation. Hernandez was booked into custody at Central Detention Center.
