Crime Blotter for the Week of June 6 - 12, 2021

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of June 6-12, 2021:       

June 6, 2021

  • Attempt Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported unknown persons attempted to steal his vehicle near the 2000 Block of Mountain Avenue.Between 06-02-21, 12:01 am and 06-06-21, 9:34 am, an unknown person damaged the driver’s side door lock and ignition to his 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video.

  • Petty Theft (Delivered Package):
A victim reported a theft near the 1600 Block of 3rd Street.The theft occurred on 06-04-21, at 1:09 am.Unknown suspects stole a delivered package from the victim’s front porch.Surveillance video captured the incident.The estimated loss was $1,04.61.
 
June 11, 2021
  • Burglary (Vehicle):
A victim reported a theft near the 1100 Block of Huntington Drive.The victim stated on 06-11-21, between 5:00 pm and 5:40 pm, an unknown person’s pried open the driver’s side door to her vehicle and stole her debit card. Investigation Deputies found a surveillance video showing a male adult and a female adult inside the victim’s vehicle.The suspects walked away from the victim’s vehicle after being inside.The estimated loss $10.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
A victim reported their vehicle stolen near the 1500 Block of Duarte Road.The victim’s Honda Civic was stolen between 06-10-21, 3:00 pm and 06-11-21, 12:00 am from the location. Deputies did not locate any surveillance video.The vehicle is still outstanding.
  • Burglary(Business):
A victim reported a theft at 1313 Huntington Drive (El Salvadreno).The victim stated on 06-11-21, at approximately 5:06 am, an unknown male adult was seen on security video when the business was closed, prying open the front door and stealing $4,000.A surveillance video of the incident was available.The estimated loss was $4,000.

June 12, 2021
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon:
A victim reported an assault with a deadly weapon on the 2500 Block of Bloomdale Street. The victim stated on 06-12-21, at 8:15 pm, he returned home and saw his son inside his home. The victim said he has a court order stating his son has to stay 100 yards from the victim and avoid contact. When the victim asked his son to leave, the son verbally threatened the victim. The victim said he walked out of the home and towards the street when his son threw a large flower pot at him, hitting him on the back. After hitting the victim, the suspect left the residence but was contacted by Deputies a few blocks away. Deputies arrested the suspect for the incident. Temple Station Detectives are investigating the case.

Annoying or harassing phone calls:

            California Penal Code 653m
“Every person, who with intent to annoy, telephones or makes contact by means of an electronic communication device with another and addresses to or about the other person any obscene language or addresses to the other person any threat to inflict injury to the person or property of the person addressed or any member of his or her family, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Nothing in this subdivision shall apply to telephone calls or electronic contacts made in good faith.” “Electronic communication device” includes items such as text messages, emails, faxes, etc.

Tips if you are receiving annoying or harassing phone calls:
1. Screen your calls. If you don’t recognize the number, don’t answer it.
2. You have no obligation to stay on the phone, do not engage in conversation.
3. Do not tell a caller where you are or give out personal information such as your name, address, social security number, bank account number.
4. Ask your phone company about privacy options for your mobile/landline phone.
5. Document specific details of annoying/harassing calls if you decide to notify the police. This information may give valuable clues to the caller’s identity and establish a pattern that may help identify the call source or reason.
