Help your First Responders conduct evacuations quickly during a disaster – get your FREE evacuation tag starting tomorrow 6/18/2021!
In an evacuation emergency, every second counts and time can save lives. Using evacuation tags is a new tool to help us quickly identify which homes and buildings have been evacuated. Residents and business owners use the tag when they evacuate and tie it in a location that is clearly visible from the street, so that first responders can see it from their vehicle. It should be tied on a mail box, gate, fence, or front door that faces the street. This will save valuable time and allow emergency personnel to immediately move on to check the next place. The Fairfax Police Department, with our partners at Ross Valley Fire Department, are providing free evacuation tags to our communities. Every household and business should have an evacuation tag.
