SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST FOR TODAY - BE AWARE, BE PREPARED, HAVE A PLAN!
The NWS has forecasted us in an “enhanced risk” for severe weather. This designation brings a high probability that severe storms will materialize. Large hail, severe/damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are possible. Two rounds of severe weather are forecasted; this afternoon; 1-6pm, and later in the evening; 6pm - midnight. Highest storm coverage will be north of and long I-80. The most favored timing of these storm events are at the peak heat period this afternoon.
Preparedness:
1) If you hear thunder, it’s time to go inside “THUNDER ROARS GO INDOORS”. Don’t be out in the open when a storm is approaching.
2) Keep a radio or cell phone with you so you to get timely storm warnings. “DOWNLOAD THE GRUNDY EMA APP”
3) If you have a NOAA Weather Radio, make sure it receives the NWS broadcast and has good batteries. Find NOAA Weather Radio info here> NOAA Weather Radio.
