Significant Storm Damage in Burr Ridge between 79^th and 87^rd Streets

Downed power lines and debris-covered streets are likely in this area of Burr Ridge.  Do not drive over a downed cable, and please drive slowly through streets covered with limbs, sticks, and leaves.

Road closures at this time include 83^rd Street closed at S. Frontage Road, on the far west end of Burr Ridge, due to a downed power line and broken power pole.  Please follow the detour signs using Shore Drive.  Several driveways to businesses are also known to be closed due to a downed power line.  ComEd was notified of these problems overnight but we do not yet know their estimate time to restore these cables.

More details will be coming later regarding our cleanup efforts focused between 79^th Street and 87^th Street in Burr Ridge.  Public Works crews worked overnight to clear and open all roadways from downed trees and limbs.  We know that daybreak will reveal the extent of tree and property damage from this overnight storm; therefore, please be patient as we assemble additional resources and work to cleanup the affected area.
