Following a traffic stop for vehicle code violations, deputies located suspected narcotics and a firearm

INCIDENT: P.C. 29800(A)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, P.C. 30305(A)(1), Felon in Possession of Ammunition, H.S. 11370.1, Possession of Controlled Substance While Armed
LOCATION: N. Sterling Avenue / E. Lynwood Drive, San Bernardino, CA.
SUSPECT(S): Arthur Hernandez, age 34, a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY: On Saturday, June 19, 2021, at approximately 3:01 p.m., Deputy Zolfaghari, from the Sheriff's Central Station, conducted a traffic stop in the area of N. Sterling Avenue and E. Lynwood Drive in San Bernardino for California vehicle code violations. Zolfaghari contacted the driver of the vehicle identified as Arthur Hernandez who was on active California Department of Corrections (CDC) Parole. During a search of the vehicle, Zolfaghari located a loaded 9mm Century Arms firearm, suspected methamphetamine, and a digital scale. Zolfaghari also located suspected methamphetamine on Hernandez's person. Hernandez was arrested for PC 29800(A)(1), PC 30305(A)(1), and HS 11370.1 and booked into Central Detention Center where he is being held on $50,000 bail.
