LOCATION: Adams Street & Yucaipa Boulevard, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Don Nygren, 44-year-old resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at approximately 3:18 p.m., Deputy D. Brandt and Deputy A. Alcala initiated a vehicle check near the intersection of Adams Street and Yucaipa Boulevard. The sole occupant of the vehicle, Don Nygren was contacted by deputies as he exited. During the contact, Nygren was found in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and had a loaded “ghost” firearm on his person.
Nygren was arrested for being a felon and an addict in possession of a loaded firearm. A search of his vehicle revealed an additional firearm, ammunition, firearm parts and controlled substances. Nygren is a convicted felon and prohibited from owning any firearms or ammunition. Deputies authored and served a search warrant at his residence in the 12300 Block of Mint Court in the city of Rancho Cucamonga.
Don Nygren was booked into Central Detention Center for multiple felony violations.
