 Each year serious injuries and millions of dollars in property loss occur from fires sparked by fireworks. Many injuries and fires can be prevented by following these steps:

--Ensure your fireworks have a State Fire Marshal Safe and Sane seal

--Always have an adult present

--Never use fireworks near dry grass or other flammable materials

--Light one firework at a time

--Have a bucket of water and a hose nearby

--Back up several feet immediately after lighting fireworks

--Never point or throw fireworks at another person

--Never attempt to re-light or “fix” fireworks

--Do not wear loose fitting clothing while lighting fireworks

--Always ensure fireworks are cool to the touch and completely extinguished before disposing.

The City of Rohnert Park and Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety want you to have a Safe and Sane Fourth of July. Illegal Fireworks can be reported through the “Nail’ Em” app available for Apple or Android or by calling (707) 584-2600.

--Asegúrese siempre de que los fuegos artificiales estén frescos al tacto y completamente extinguidos antes de desechar.
