Marco Gamboa Jr., a convicted felon, was arrested for battery on a peace officer, possession of narcotics & a firearm

INCIDENT: HS 11370.1(a) Possession of a controlled substance while armed, PC 29800(a)(1) Felon in possession of a loaded firearm, PC 30305(a)(1) Felon in possession of ammunition, PC 243(c)(1) Battery on peace officer and PC 243(d) Battery causing serious bodily injury.
 
LOCATION: Del Rosa Drive / Baseline Street, San Bernardino, Ca.
 
SUSPECT: Marco Antonio Gamboa Jr., 35 years old, resident of San Bernardino
 
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 23, 2021, at approximately 12:00 p.m., deputies from the Central Station Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) conducted a traffic stop near Del Rosa Drive and Baseline Street, in the unincorporated county area of San Bernardino. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Marco Antonio Gamboa Jr., was found to be on active felony probation out of San Bernardino County. During the investigation, Gamboa attempted to flee and a foot pursuit ensued.
 
Additional units arrived and assisted with the foot pursuit. Gamboa physically assaulted one of the deputies as he attempted to evade arrest. Gamboa was apprehended and taken into custody. The deputy was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released. During a search of Gamboa’s vehicle, MET deputies located a stolen loaded firearm and narcotics. Gamboa is a convicted felon in the State of California and a documented gang member.
 
Gamboa was arrested for HS 11370.1(a); possession of a controlled substance while armed, PC 29800(a)(1); felon in possession of a loaded firearm, PC 30305(a)(1); felon in possession of ammunition, PC 243(c)(1); battery on a peace officer, and PC 243(d), battery causing serious bodily injury. Gamboa was booked at Central Detention Center without bail.
 
The Multiple Enforcement Team based out of Central Station proudly serves the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino and the cities of Grand Terrace and Loma Linda. Deputies assigned to the MET team work closely with city and county partners to address recurring problem locations and quality of life issues for the residents.  MET Deputies focus on apprehension and prosecution of serious criminal offenders, parolees-at-large, felony probationers, sex offenders, tracking of criminal gang activity, narcotics violations, and other serious crimes.
