Multiple Enforcement Team deputies arrested Travonte Gasaway, a convicted felon & gang member, during a traffic stop

INCIDENT:  PC 29800(a)(1): felon in possession of a loaded firearm, PC 30305(a)(1): felon in possession of ammunition, PC 25850(c)(2): Carrying a loaded stolen firearm
 
LOCATION: Lynnwood Drive / N Golden Avenue, San Bernardino
 
SUSPECT: Travonte Shelven Gasaway, 24-year-old resident of San Bernardino
 
VICTIM:      State of California
 
 
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Central Station Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Lynwood Drive and N Golden Avenue, in the unincorporated county area of San Bernardino. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Travonte Shelven Gasaway, was found to be on parole to the State of California. Gasaway is a convicted felon in the State of California and a documented gang member. During a parole compliance search of Gasaway’s vehicle, MET deputies located a stolen loaded firearm.
 
Gasaway was arrested for PC 29800(a)(1); felon in possession of a loaded firearm, PC 30305(a)(1); felon in possession of ammunition and PC 25850 (c)(2) possessing a loaded stolen firearm. Gasaway was booked at Central Detention Center in leiu of $50,000 bail.
 
The Multiple Enforcement Team based out of Central Station proudly serves the unincorporated areas of San Bernardino and the cities of Grand Terrace and Loma Linda. Deputies assigned to the MET team work closely with city and county partners to address recurring problem locations and quality of life issues for the residents.  MET Deputies focus on the apprehension and prosecution of serious criminal offenders, parolees-at-large, felony probationers, sex offenders, tracking of criminal gang activity, narcotics violations, and other serious crimes.
