On Thursday June 24, 2021 Harper Woods Detectives arrested COREY QUINTAE HAWKINS, a 22 year old Harper Woods resident, in conjunction with the 2019 death of an eight month old baby boy. HAWKINS was arraigned and formally charged in 32-A District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Rebekah Coleman as follows:
Count 1-Homicide-Felony Murder
Count 2-Child Abuse-First Degree
Count 3-Homicide-Murder-Second Degree
HAWKINS has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled for July 14, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court.. If convicted, HAWKINS faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. The arrest and charges on HAWKINS stems from a 2019 incident which occurred in the 20900 block of Hampton in the City of Harper Woods. No additional details are being released at this time.
