Full Notification

On today's date at approximately 6:43am the Guilderland Police Department, Guilderland EMS and Westmere Fire Department responded to a personal injury auto accident on Western Avenue in the area of Church Road.  Makenzie Nauman, age 25, of Schenectady, NY was operating a 2018 Ford Escape color black.  While turning left into 1573 Western Avenue, Dunkin Donuts the vehicle struck a 2006 BMW motorcycle color blue traveling westbound being operated by Joseph E. Gentile, age 62, of Saratoga Springs, NY.  Gentile suffered various traumatic injuries in the collision and was transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  No other injuries were reported.  The collision is still under investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
