Please be advised, there has been a temporary reduction in cell service for the South end of the island, from The Westin all the way to the Courtyard & Residence Inn property.
The south-end water tower is undergoing sandblasting and repainting, requiring the cell tower equipment to be removed by the Verizon wireless carrier. The carrier implemented a temporary cell tower but we have been informed the tower capacity is not strong enough to provide the same bandwidth. The temporary tower will be in place for a few weeks until the tower repainting is completed and the old cell tower platform can be reinstalled. Another notification will be sent once the wireless carrier has confirmed this.
Facilities with their own, separate WIFI and any properties on the north end of the island should not experience any current reduction in signal.
The cell service in the Beach Village area does not appear to be impacted as heavily, though some properties may still experience a reduction in service.
