Alert: Severe flooding.....stay out of basements. See full attached message 
FLOOD ALERT Widespread flooding has been reported in the city and throughout the Metro-Detroit area. Many streets in the Grosse Pointe area are flooded.
Residents are advised to monitor basements for flooding.
AVOID DRIVING through flooded streets
If experiencing basement flooding make sure that there are no electric wires that are under the water level. Also, make sure that you are extra careful with electric devices in wet basements. Only use double insulated and grounded vacums and dehumidifiers. If you are in doubt about the electrical safety of your basement, stay out of it! As rainfall ends water in basements will recede.
