Flash Flood Warning until 06:30AM Sunday

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... South Central Caddo County in southwestern Oklahoma... Northeastern Comanche County in southwestern Oklahoma...

* Until 630 AM CDT.

* At 132 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Moderate rainfall, heavy during thunderstorms, will persist through 4 AM. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Eastern parts of Lawton, Elgin, Apache, Fletcher, Sterling, Medicine Park, Lake Ellsworth and eastern Fort Sill. This includes the following highways... Interstate 44 between mile markers 33 and 61. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CADDO, OK ... COMANCHE, OK

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
