[Español abajo] In the face of extreme heat, low humidity, and record drought conditions, we urge Santa Rosans to make safe choices and NOT use fireworks when celebrating the Fourth of July this year.
Regardless of the allure and nostalgia of fireworks, remember that ALL fireworks are illegal in Santa Rosa and the surrounding unincorporated areas. Concerned calls from our community reporting the use of fireworks are on the rise. We’re urging those that are using fireworks to STOP immediately and safely dispose of unspent fireworks.
Enforcement teams from both the police and fire departments will be patrolling areas and will cite individuals violating the City’s fireworks ban, including fines up to $1,000. But please don’t let it get to that point.
Nationwide, more than 16,000 reported fires are started by fireworks annually not to mention hundreds of preventable injuries. Conditions remain dry and an evening of fireworks is not worth the risk to yourself or the community.
We are all accountable for doing our part to protect Santa Rosa from the threat of wildfire. Please keep this in mind as you make your plans for the upcoming holiday.

Ante el calor extremo, la baja humedad y las condiciones de sequía récord, urgimos a los habitantes de Santa Rosa a tomar decisiones seguras y NO usar fuegos pirotécnicos cuando celebren el 4 de julio este año.
Independientemente del encanto y la nostalgia de los fuegos pirotécnicos, recuerde que TODOS los fuegos pirotécnicos son ilegales en Santa Rosa y las áreas no incorporadas circundantes. Las llamadas de preocupación de nuestra comunidad que informan sobre el uso de fuegos pirotécnicos van en aumento. Estamos urgiendo a aquellos que usan fuegos pirotécnicos a DETENERSE de inmediato y desechar de manera segura los fuegos pirotécnicos no gastados.
Los equipos de aplicación de la policía y los departamentos de bomberos patrullarán las áreas y citarán a las personas que violen la prohibición de los fuegos pirotécnicos de la Ciudad, incluyendo multas de hasta $ 1,000. Pero no dejes que llegue a ese punto.
