After consultation with NWS Jacksonville and participating in their 6:00 PM briefing, we are monitoring the potential impact on Jekyll Island from Tropical Storm Elsa as it moves closer to the east coast, and subsequently, Glynn County is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning.
At this time, the following Jekyll Island outdoor facilities will be closed Wednesday, July 7:
There are no additional closures, curfews, or a State of Emergency to announce at this time from the Glynn County School System, the City of Brunswick, Jekyll Island, or Glynn County. As conditions are being monitored, updates will be available at www.glynncounty.org.
GDOT is monitoring wind conditions for the Sidney Lanier Bridge. At this time, no closure is anticipated for Wednesday, July 7. GDOT will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and any necessary changes will be communicated.
It is anticipated the island may experience some periods of heavy rain or wind and downed trees or powerlines. If you witness these, please call 911 to report them and emergency services will contact appropriate response teams.
Please continue to pay close attention to weather updates as they are made available, and follow the latest forecast models from the National Weather Service Jacksonville to stay informed between updates.

- Jekyll Island Tennis Center
- Jekyll Island Golf Club (pro shop will remain open)
- Mosaic Trolley Tours and Historic Cottages (museum gallery and shop will remain open)
- Faith Chapel
- Summer Waves Water Park
