Suspect attempts entry into a home
Attention Interlaken residents. Earlier this morning at approximately 2:30 am a individual attempted to make entry into a home in the area of the 300 block of Bridlemere Ave. The suspect interfered with the Ring camera that was located in the area. No entry was made.
Reminder there is an active vehicle theft ring operating in Monmouth County. The individuals commiting these crimes are often juveniles with extensive criminal history. They are often armed and have no regard for law enforcement, you, your family or our community. They have been in and out of our service area over the last week several times. They often arrive in a stolen vehicle from another part of the state and look for unlocked vehicles with the keys left inside. They then steal your vehicles and subsequently use them in violent crimes.
These are crimes of opportunity that are very easy to prevent. Lock your cars and remove the key fobs. That is all you have to do to prevent a tragedy.
Do not confront, pursue or involve yourself if you observe this activity occurring.
Report any suspicious activity to the Deal Police immediately and we will take appropriate action. Once again the most important thing you can do is LOCK YOUR CARS.
Instructions:
Review your cameras, lock your doors and report any suspicious activity.
