Suspect: Boyland, Lavell 33-year old male
On Friday, April 2nd, 2021, The Redwood City Police Department Street Crime Suppression Team conducted a Human Trafficking operation in Redwood City, and contacted Lavell Boyland as part of that operation. Street Crime Suppression Team Detectives conducted a several months long pimping/pandering investigation on Boyland and learned he had been acting as a pimp for a female victim. He orchestrated sending the victim all over the Bay Area, to commit acts of prostitution, including Redwood City, Burlingame, San Mateo, Stockton and Oakland. During the course of this investigation, Boyland, who was on parole, removed his GPS ankle monitor and became a parolee-at-large after a domestic violence incident in Pacifica with the same victim.
On Thursday, July 1st, 2021, Redwood City Street Crime Suppression Team Detectives located Boyland at a hotel in Emeryville, and together with the U.S. Marshall’s Service Fugitive Task Force took him into custody. He was arrested on additional charges of pimping/pandering, possession of narcotics for sale, as well as committing a felony while out on bail and booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Anyone that may have additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Duddy at 650-780-7143, or the Redwood City Police Department’s tip line at 650-780-7110.
