On Tuesday July 9, 2021, Officers with the Marion Police Department were called to respond to 619 Rutherford Road (Marion) in reference to a male inside that had active warrants for his arrest. This was the second time officers responded to this address today, the first was for domestic related arguing among person(s) occupying the home.
 
 Once they arrived on scene, a female was observed exiting the home. The female informed officers that Cordell had ran upstairs inside the home. When officers inquired as to weapons inside the residence, they were advised that Cordell had possible access
 
Officers then backed away from the home and set up a perimeter. The Marion Police Department and McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Teams entered the home to search for Cordell. Cordell was located inside of a bedroom closet, and was taken into custody without incident. There were no weapons found in the home.
 
Cordell was charged with the following orders for arrest, and was placed in the custody of the McDowell County Jail under a $74,000 bond.

Resist Obstruct and Delay
