Flood Warning until 10:15PM Saturday
At 909 PM EDT, Doppler radar and rain gauges across the region indicate that 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain has fallen during the evening across the warned area. Rainfall was beginning to move east out of the warned area. Additional rainfall will generally be confined to eastern Bland and eastern Wythe county, ending between 10 PM and 11 PM EDT. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wytheville, Bland, Richlands, Bluefield, Tazewell, Rural Retreat and Cedar Bluff. This includes the following streams and drainages... Beech Fork, Bluestone River, Burkes Garden Creek, Brown Lick Branch, Buddle Branch, Blue Spring Creek, Big Creek, Big Reed Island Creek, Clinch River and Cedar Run. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
