Suspect Arrested for Knife Assault 
On 07/13/2021, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 211 Fleece Lane, Mooresboro, in reference to a disturbance call. While en route to the address, Rutherford County Communications received information that a subject had been stabbed in the chest and neck by his son.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim of the stabbing, Douglas John McGinnis, had been transported in a personal vehicle to the hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators learned that a disagreement between family members occurred and that Adam Kenneth McGinnis assaulted his father, Douglas John McGinnis, with a knife, causing lacerations to his wrist, chest and throat.
Adam Kenneth McGinnis was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. He received a $20,000 secured bond.
