* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Monmouth County in central New Jersey... East central Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 721 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Red Bank, or near Sandy Hook, moving east at 15 mph. This storm has produced damage with wires down down and power outages near Route 35 in Middletown Township. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Law enforcement. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... Long Branch, Sandy Hook, Middletown, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Red Bank, Keansburg, Matawan, Highlands, Elberon, Navesink, Collingwood Park, Lincroft, East Freehold, Eatontown, West Long Branch, Keyport, Rumson, Little Silver and Oceanport. This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 102 and 121.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MIDDLESEX, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
