Air Quality Alert


The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange air quality alert for today, July 15, 2021 covering Mercer and Burlington Counties.

A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children, people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases and the elderly. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors.

Additionally, a heat advisory is in effect for Friday, July 16, 2021, with a heat index expected near 100 degrees.

The Senior Center, located at 1117 Route 130 North at Folson Way, will be available as a cooling station both days until 4:30 p.m. for anyone without functioning air conditioning or power. For after hours assistance, please contact the Robbinsville Township Police Department at 609-259-3900.

Instructions:

Anyone with compromised health conditions should avoid prolonged outdoor exposure.
