INCIDENT: Possession of a firearm with a controlled substance
 
LOCATION: South Del Rosa Drive / 4^th Street, San Bernardino
 
SUSPECT: Ruben Galvez, 27 year old resident of San Bernardino
 
 
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 9:39 p.m., deputies assigned to Central Station were conducting patrol in the unincorporated area of San Bernardino and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a vehicle code violation. The driver, Ruben Galvez, admitted to being in possession of a firearm, methamphetamine, and hypodermic needles. Galvez was detained during a search of the vehicle and found to be in possession of two untraceable 9mm semi-automatic "ghost" handguns. Additionally, Galvez was found to be in possession of loaded handgun magazines, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a large quantity of methamphetamine.
 
Ruben Galvez was subsequently placed under arrest for HS11370.1(a) - Possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, PC25400(a)(3) - Possession of a concealed firearm inside a vehicle, and PC23900 - Possession of a firearm with an altered or removed serial number. Galvez was later transported to Central Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
