Detectives are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the 22000 block of Sioux Road

INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 22000 Sioux Road in the Town of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 34-year-old male resident of El Mirage
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 18, 2021, at approximately 9:05 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to call for a man who had been shot at a residence in the 22000 block of Sioux Road in the Town of Apple Valley.
Deputy Candelario Sahagun was first on the scene and located the victim, who was unresponsive. The victim had an apparent gunshot wound. Sahagun used his tactical medical training to apply a tourniquet and was able to stop the bleeding. The victim was airlifted for treatment and is currently recovering.
The shooting is still under investigation.
