Deputies responded to the Walmart Distribution Center and determined a report of an active shooter was unfounded

INCIDENT: Unfounded Report of an Active Shooter
LOCATION: Walmart Distribution Center, 21101 Johnson Road, Apple Valley, CA
SUMMARY: On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 9:57 pm, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to the Walmart Distribution Center located at 21101 Johnson Road, following a 911 call from a female at the location asking for help. Soon after, Sheriff’s Dispatch received numerous calls reporting an active shooter at the location.
When deputies arrived, employees were in the process of being evacuated and learned no shooting had occurred, and everyone was safe. With assistance from the Victor Valley Sheriff station, deputies completed a security sweep and determined the reports to be unsubstantiated.
