On September 4, 2020, CPD officers were dispatched to the Corcoran Unified School District Office (1520 Patterson Avenue) regarding a possible embezzlement investigation involving a school administrator, Marty Raeber (age 60). The investigation revealed Raeber had stolen a golf cart belonging to the school district which he took to his residence without permission. The stolen golf cart worth approximately $3,300.00 was later returned back to the district office by Raeber. During the investigation, CPD detectives received further information that Raeber was possibly in possession of additional stolen property belonging to the school district at his residence in Hanford, CA. On July 8, 2021, CPD detectives arrested Raeber for the embezzlement, grand theft charges. Raeber also turned over a stolen leaf blower he had been keeping at his residence also belonging to school district. Raeber was then cited to appear in Kings County Superior Court for the offenses. On July 20, 2021, CPD officers served a search warrant of Raeber’s residence in the 700 block of Julia Way in Hanford, CA to check for additional stolen property belonging to the Corcoran Unified School District. During the search of his residence, officers recovered a chain saw, a cement cutter, fluorescent lighting, several tables and chairs stolen from CUSD. Officers also located a prohibited .223/5.56 caliber assault rifle that was modified by Raeber making it illegal to possess. The total worth of the stolen property recovered during the investigation was approximated to be over $6,000.00. Additional charges of possession of stolen property and possession of an illegal assault weapon were forwarded to the Kings County District Attorney’s Office against Mary Raeber.
