INCIDENT:      Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of Probationer for Possession of Child Pornography
 
LOCATION:    1800 Block of Golden Rod Ave., Big Bear City
 
SUSPECT:      Adam Lara, 32-year-old resident of Big Bear City
 
VICTIM:           Juvenile
 
 
SUMMARY: 
In March, 2021, the Big Bear Sheriff's Station received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting possible possession of child pornography coming from a social media account at a residence located in Big Bear City.  Multiple search warrants for various social media platforms were obtained which identified profiles belonging to Adam Lara.  A records check revealed that Adam Lara is currently on probation with a controlling charge of possession of child pornography.
 
An additional search warrant for Lara's residence was obtained, which was served on July 20, 2021 at approximately 8:15 a.m.  Deputies made contact with Adam Lara at the residence and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.  Lara was booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of possession of child pornography.  Suspect Adam Lara is currently out of custody on a $25,000 bail bond.  An arraignment hearing in this matter is scheduled for September 7, 2021 in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
 
This matter remains under investigation.  If it is determined that additional victims may exist, further information will be released requesting unreported victims to contact the Detective Bureau of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station.
