Felon in Possession of Firearms/Drugs

On 07/24/21 at 1:03am, an Officer initiated a traffic stop at W. Racine St and Chestnut St for a vehicle operating without tail lights.  The driver who was the only occupant of the vehicle was identified as Marquise J. Vance.  K9 Fred was requested and responded to the vehicle stop.  Probable cause was developed to search the vehicle.  As officers were attempting to detain Vance, he attempted to flee on foot.  Vance made it a short distance before being apprehended by K9 Fred.  During the arrest, Vance attempted to bite an officer. 
 
Vance is a convicted felon and is currently on probation/parole through Wisconsin Department of Corrections.  A search of Vance located a quantity of fentanyl, illegal possessed prescription pills and large amount of currency.  During the search of the vehicle, officers located two loaded handguns and an extended handgun magazine.  Vance was held at the Rock County Jail on the following charges.
