Today, Tuesday, July 27th, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, with the help of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and LASD Aero Bureau, will be taking part in active shooter training at the former “Sears” building located at the Westfield Valencia Town Center (24201 Valencia Blvd., Valencia).
Training will be held between 9AM - 11AM, in which deputies will participate in various active shooter scenarios with the use of simulation rounds. The east side of the parking lot surrounding the former Sears building will be closed, so we ask that you please avoid the area.
Active shooter drills like these help sharpen skills necessary to quickly neutralize a threat and allow for quicker medical response.
