South Modesto Burn Victim’s Injuries Being Investigated

On Monday, July 26, 2021, at 9:30 AM, deputies and medical personnel responded to 665 S 7th Street in Modesto for the report of a person who had been burned. An adult male was located suffering from life-threatening burns on the front of his body. The male was transported by medical helicopter to an out-of-county hospital.

The Crimes Against Persons Unit responded to the scene to take over the investigation. It is believed the man was sleeping under the Hwy-99 overpass near Pecos Avenue when he was burned. He then walked to a family member's residence, which was when someone called 911 for help. The other circumstances surrounding this incident are still being determined.

Detectives continue to investigate and gather other relevant information. If anyone has anything to share related to this investigation, then they are urged to contact Detective Veronica Esquivez at (209) 652-1792.  Anonymous reports can be submitted to http://www.stancrimetips.org/.
