Flood Advisory until 08:15PM Monday

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Northwestern Dolores County in southwestern Colorado...

* Until 815 PM MDT.

* At 514 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... mainly rural areas of Northwestern Dolores County This includes the following streams and drainages... Cross Canyon, Dove Creek, Far Draw, Canyon Creek, Rabbit Creek, Ryman Creek, Dry Canyon, Narraguinnep Canyon, Calf Creek and Glade Canyon.

* AFFECTED AREAS: DOLORES, CO

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
