Ten Drivers Arrested at Rialto Police Department’s Checkpoint
Rialto, Calif. – The Rialto Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, July 23rd in the 1400 block of W. Foothill Blvd. During this checkpoint, the Rialto Police Department, along with (3) San Bernardino Police Officers and (1) Deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, made a total of (10) arrests and issued (27) citations.
Of the (10) arrests, (7) drivers were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, (2) drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, and (1) driver was arrested for felony possession of a firearm. Of the (27) citations issued, (22) drivers were cited for being unlicensed and (5) were cited for driving under a suspended / revoked driver’s license. Those (27) driver’s license violations resulted in the impounding of (17) vehicles.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is to promote public safety and deter drivers from operating motor vehicles while impaired. The Rialto Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe.
The Rialto Police Department will hold another DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, August 20th, 2021.
