On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at approximately 10:37 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the loading dock in the 3000 block of Geer Road. Officers responded to the scene and discovered a male, who was believed to be sleeping, had been run over by the tires of a delivery vehicle that was in the process of backing into the loading dock of the business.

Members of the Turlock Fire Department performed life saving measures on scene and the male was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital. Despite all efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The uninjured driver of the delivery vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The identity of the deceased male is not being released until he can be positively identified and next of kin notified.

The Turlock Police Department does not suspect that speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
