During the week of July 26 - August 1, no lives were lost to violence. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has investigated 75 homicides this year, compared to 49 this time last year.
For the week, there were 67 instances of gunfire. OPD officers recovered 23 firearms for a total of 708 this year. There were 31 robberies, 15 assaults with a firearm, and 3 carjackings.
