How resilient is the City of Lakeport’s water supply?
The City of Lakeport utilizes two different sustainable water sources for our drinking water needs:
Ground Water Facilities- Wells
The City uses four groundwater wells that are located in the Scotts Valley area West of the Lakeport city limit boundary. One well field is located near Scotts Creek and the other is located on a nearby property. Our wells are continuously monitored and treated to meet or exceed State and Federal requirements.
Surface Water Treatment Facility
This state of the art treatment facility is staffed with highly trained and certified personnel. This facility takes water from Clear Lake and treats it to a very high standard that surpasses current water quality standards established by both the State Water Resources Control Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Both of our water production systems are fully functional. We are anticipating low source water levels this year due to the drought but we do not anticipate any impacts to service. We highly encourage everyone to do their part and PLEASE CONSERVE.
