The victim said the subject continued to talk to him and asked the subject to walk away. The victim said the suspect then lifted up his right pant leg, and he saw a black handle sticking out of his sock. The victim said he thought the object was a knife and said he was frightened. The subject walked away westbound on Mission Street. The victim said he got in his car and drove away from the scene. The officers were unable to find the suspect.
On Wednesday, 07-28-21 at 5:15 p.m., subsequent to a traffic stop by Officer Cain on the 200 block of 87th Street, a 33-year old Daly City resident was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a loaded firearm while being a felon, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a concealed firearm with a prior felony conviction.

Officer Hepler met the Loss Prevention Officer in the parking lot, and they found and detained the female accomplice. The female had a large purse and showed the officers the purse was empty; however, the lining was torn and lined with aluminum foil. Officer Hepler arrested the female, a 37-year old Los Angeles resident, for possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. The male subject is outstanding.
On Thursday, 07-29-21 at 2:30 p.m., a 90-year old Daly City resident (victim) said she parked her vehicle in the Trader Joe’s parking lot. She said she was walking to the store when she was approached by a subject who told her he noticed some plastic scraping on her tire and some damage to the plastic underneath which was causing it to drag. The subject told the victim his wife was inside Trader Joe’s and would be shopping for approximately 30 minutes. The suspect told the victim he could fix the damaged part while she was shopping. The victim agreed, and the subject asked if he could have her credit card for payment. The victim refused but provided him $23 for his service and then provided him with the keys to her vehicle, a 2001 Honda Accord. The victim walked into the store and started to think the encounter was suspicious. She turned around and noticed both the suspect and her vehicle were missing. The victim could only describe the suspect as a dark-skinned black male in his 20’s, approximately 5’9”, slender build who wore all black clothing.

The victim said he continued to walk to his vehicle, and shortly after he closed the door and started the ignition, one of the males came up to his door and told him to get out. The victim said he saw the male had a knife in his right hand. The victim said he thought he was going to be carjacked, so he drove away. The victim said as he was driving away, he heard something hit his rear window. There was a hole in the rear window, but officers could not figure out how it happened. Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
