San Leandro Police Investigating Shooting, Leaving Three Shot
On Wednesday, August 4, around 11 PM, San Leandro Police responded to the 15200 block of Hesperian Boulevard for a loud music complaint. Officers learned that a birthday party celebration was being held at a banquet hall at this location. Officers spoke with the on-site security staff and requested that the music be turned down.
On Thursday, August 5, around 2 AM, SLPD received several 911 calls of a shooting at the same location. An Officer a few blocks away on an unrelated event heard the shots and responded within seconds. Officers discovered a large crowd leaving the establishment, yet no one would discuss what occurred.
SLPD located over 30 shell casings from two different ammunitions around the crime scene. Officers also learned that three victim gunshot victims had self-transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. All three victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
“We are grateful that the victims of this senseless shooting did not sustain significant injuries and urge anyone with information to call and help the police in solving this crime,” said Captain Ali Khan.
If you were a witness or have any information about the shooting, please call Detective Joe Kalsbeek or Det. Joanna Villa at 510 577 3274.
