The Lake in the Hills Police Department invites the community to the free National Night Out Community Cookout event on Saturday, August 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Irv Floress Safety Education Center, located at 1109 Crystal Lake Road. Join the police department and show that we stand strong together as a community and against crime. Police officers and village officials will be in attendance.
C'mon out to watch a live K-9 demo presented by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. See the LifeNet Air Medical helicopter land, peek inside, and meet the pilot and medical crew. In addition, see and touch various types of police and fire vehicles, meet “PC” the Patrol Car Robot, try on a pair of fatal vision impairment goggles, try out the police simunition trailer with paint/training marking cartridges, visit with our tactical bike and traffic units, meet an evidence technician, and more. Free hotdogs, chips, and pop will be provided.
Please anticipate increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area. Drive safely and use caution while traveling near the Irv Floress Safety Education Center (located south of the Police Station).
