Severe Weather Potential for Tuesday. Be weather aware!

There is a risk of severe thunderstorms on Tuesday. Storms could move into the area during the morning hours with redevelopment in the afternoon. Each round of storms could pose a risk of damaging winds, hail, and locally heavy rain. Confidence in timing and location remain low at this time. 

Monitor weather conditions and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

In addition, heat indices will range from 100 to 105 degrees in parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin on Tuesday. A heat advisory is in effect for parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin.  

Flooding - River and stream levels are still high and there is active flooding occuring on the Kickapoo River in Viola.  A significant rain event could potentially create flood hazards near rivers and streams in low lying areas of the County.

  • What: Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail, and heavy rain.
  • Where: All areas.
  • Timing: Morning chances; Afternoon likely.
  • Impacts: Damage from hail to property, homes, crops possible. Winds could lead to tree damage, downed power lines. Localized flooding is possible, with rises on some rivers and streams.
  • ACTION: Stay weather aware! Take shelter when storms approach. If flooding is observed, move to higher ground
