Dangerous Heat for Neptune through Friday 
The National Weather Service has issued a #HeatAdvisory for our area today through Friday, with heat index temperatures expected near or over 105°. The most oppressive heat is expected for Wednesday and Thursday, but each day this week will be dangerously hot. ***The Neptune Township Senior Center will be open as a cooling center all week between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Masks are required in the facility.***
Beat the heat with these simple, common sense do's and don'ts:
DO:
-Check on elderly neighbors and family members
-Limit your time in direct sunlight
-Avoid (or take frequent breaks from) strenuous outdoor activity and exercise
-Wear sunscreen and sunglasses
-Drink plenty of water
-Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing
-If you're feeling the effects of heatstroke, call 9-1-1
DON'T:
-Leave your kids or pets in the car unattended
-Leave pets outdoors
-Forget to drink plenty of water
