The end of summer is now here and our students are heading back to school. As excited as we all are to get back on campus, we are reminded that with our schools reopening, we will have the expected impact on morning and afternoon traffic in the surrounding streets and neighborhoods.

While everyone has important places to be, and traffic can be a frustrating reality, we must all remember that safety should be everyone’s number one priority. Please help us make it a safe year for everyone by leaving for your destination earlier to avoid the need to rush, use caution while driving through neighborhoods, especially where children may be walking near schools, and slow down. Students and families will be walking, biking and driving to school. We all need to be extra vigilant to watch for pedestrians.

As a reminder, our officers will be in the area of schools around start and end times to conduct traffic enforcement.
